Simon's diverse background and experiences allow him to bring creative and innovative design approaches to any organisation or intellectual domain. He brings over ten years of public sector experience in policy development, project management and service design, and is committed to working with organisations that bring about a positive impact for individuals and the community as a whole.
His experience ranges from strategic policy development and project management for major transport and infrastructure projects at the state government level to leading business transformation and process improvement in local government. Most recently, he led an internal service design team at the City of Boroondara, where he applied cutting edge approaches to prototype a number of highly successful design approaches to improve customer experience and manage organisational change.
He holds honours degrees in law and zoology from the University of Melbourne, as well as a Master's degree in Innovation & Information Systems from the London School of Economics & Political Science. He has spoken at a number of conferences, most recently at UX Australia Service Design Conference detailing an innovative capacity building program combining design research, process improvement and agile methodologies to train staff across the City of Boroondara to implement their own design projects and improvements. Simon has also been a guest lecturer for Design and Communication students at Swinburne University, guiding and mentoring students to develop creative design proposals to solve real world problems in the local community.
