Laura Sudraud
Senior Strategic Designer
KenyaLaura is passionate about understanding and defining new uses. Trained as a designer, she combines “Innovation by design” approach and visual communication to simplify complex problems. She has spent more than 8 years in the design consultancy field, helping companies and start-ups to define and solve their problems through a human-centred approach. Specialised in strategic design, she has developed solid skills in the micro and macro understanding of a service and a company’s organisation, in the exploration of ecosystems (actors/contexts/situations/ environments), in the identification and reformulation of needs to define & conceptualise visions, businesses, services, experiences that drive value.
After spending the early part of her career helping companies to adopt this approach, her 4 years at Sphères (France), a design and innovation agency specialising in design & data, enabled her to consolidate her know-how and put this approach into practice on a variety of concrete projects, thereby helping her to understand the economic and organisational issues associated with innovation. This enabled her to develop a point of view as creative as it is strategic, and to identify opportunities as well as designing the resulting projects.
Alongside her work, she was responsible for setting up a skills sponsorship partnership with the Incubateur 21 of the French Red Cross, where she helped them to identify the needs and challenges of the ecosystem to define frugal innovations and players with entrepreneurial potential; and as an expert coach on incubated projects on health issues, such as the creation of a tele-health vehicle service in rural areas or the implementation of modular hostels to enable emergency housing situations to be adapted to the context & needs of cities.
During her most recent experience at KPMG France, as lead designer of the InnovationLab, she was able to take a major step forward in team management and consolidate her approach and methodology in the service of the transmission and development of the Lab and its teams, particularly on projects involving the French public sector.
At ThinkPlace, she is part of the “Service Design and Systems Strengthening” business unit.
