Scott Obara

Senior Executive Designer
Australia

Scott is motivated to use design to further innovation and develop positive, human-centred outcomes and social change for good. Scott’s systematic approach towards design is complimented by his flexibility, desire to learn and characteristic sense of fun.

With over nine years’ experience in the Digital Health industry in the US and Australia, Scott has a broad range of skills in digital solution design, business process design, user experience design and information architecture. Scott has worked in senior business and project management roles leading large complex projects including implementation of usability improvements for the Australian My Health Record solution and performance and process optimisations of state-level digital systems.

Through his experience, Scott has developed a strong understanding of how to design for meaningful human-centred outcomes in complex environments. Combining careful observation with encompassing and inclusive perspectives, Scott is well practiced at bringing to light underlying factors impacting complex systems. He is experienced in co-designing with individuals, government and organisations, clarifying intended outcomes and designing solutions at the intersection of what is ‘desirable, possible and viable’.

Scott has a keen interest in developing design methodologies for emerging technologies such as AI and Blockchain. He believes that design and technology combined can be greater than the sum the two parts.
