Juanita is passionate about social innovation, entrepreneurship, business & information design.
With professional and academic experience in the UK, China, Indonesia, Kenya and Colombia, her strong communication skills paired with her transformational design acumen, allow her to turn everyday business concepts into disruptive strategies that achieve social impact. She has worked in the areas of poverty alleviation, economic inequality and financial inclusion using Human Centered Design approach. She also co-created a strategy to teach victims displaced by the armed conflict in Colombia, on how to gain much needed entrepreneurship skills using innovative methods and techniques.
Juanita has previous experience as Project Manager & Researcher in an international recruitment agency in Colombia and the UK and as a Creative Director for boutique marketing agencies. Juanita holds two Bachelor’s degrees from Los Andes University, Colombia in Business Administration and Design and is currently undertaking a Postgraduate Degree in Social Innovation Management in Nairobi, Kenya. Her work was recently published in the International Small Business Journal’s paper: Business models impacting social change in violent and poverty-stricken neighbourhoods: A case study in Colombia.
