Strategic Designer
EthiopiaBeza is a social justice advocate with a strong faith that she was created for a positive purpose. She believes in the good of humanity and hopes to capitalize on it to promote a society that supports one another. She aspires to see kindness prevail and marginalized groups prosper. By applying an intersectional lens to her work, she focuses on programming which considers various realities that shape the identities, experience and needs of our society. As a Strategic Designer, she is excited to immerse herself in the design thinking process, learn about the diverse contexts we work in to co-create solutions that address unique needs. She looks forward to exploring different cultures, cuisines, attires, interactions and ways of being to better understand our ‘humans’.
Beza has more than 9 years of combined experience in qualitative research, program management, Gender transformative approach, Social and Behavior change and human centered design. She has led Gender and SBC components of various youth focused projects with outcomes focusing on the areas of health, immunization, education and economic empowerment. She also has experience coordinating the implementation of a 25-million-dollar WASH project funded by USAID; raising funds for a charitable cause; monitoring and evaluation.
She has extensive experience in collaborating with research teams to conceptualize evidence, synthesize key findings, and identify actionable insights and drivers to inform the development of effective GTA and SBC strategies. She also works closely with monitoring teams to ensure that learnings are systematically captured and fed back into program design and implementation. Additionally, she has expertise in developing SBC and GTA training modules and delivering engaging training sessions.
With a passion for writing, she has contributed to various publications, including a book chapter on inequalities related to COVID-19 and op-eds on various learning platforms. She currently contributes articles for Fondazione Aurora under the theme ‘Africa from Within,’, offering insights from Africans on various social enterprises across the continent, with a particular focus on Ethiopia.
