Rachel is a visual designer and critical thinker. She has over ten years’ experience working in government agencies in New Zealand and Australia, in roles spanning legal analysis and advice, business rules analysis, and learning and development. Rachel has deep knowledge of regulatory systems and compliance, government processes and structures, and modelling business knowledge.

Rachel went back to university to study visual communication design out of a desire to break down knowledge barriers and silos and make complex information understandable and engaging for everyone. Her design skillset includes information design, illustration, and drawing from many disciplines to think around a problem.

Rachel is following with interest the developments internationally in legal design (visual contracts, legal service design) and she is interested in systems design. Rachel is also interested in facilitating citizen participation and decision-making and reducing inequality through high-quality, accessible, and engaging information and public services.
